Our Founder—
Elisa Henry Morton
Nourished Matrescence exists because I let motherhood crack me open in every way imaginable—not just when I became a mother, but during the four years I spent navigating the challenges of infertility and recurrent pregnancy loss. It was in this darkness, this deeply isolating period, that I met my truest self.

Elisa’s warmth and ability to connect with communities, brands and audiences alike — specifically surrounding her experience with infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, and parenting her daughter — make her a highly-valued and respected speaker, author, and key opinion leader in the motherhood space.
Elisa’s success (and path to Motherhood) didn’t come without a painful and isolating decade-long journey as she navigated adrenal fatigue, pre-cancerous bowel polyps, a multitude of debilitating gut issues, multiple surgeries, infertility, recurrent pregnancy loss, IVF, anxiety and PTSD, thyroid problems and hormonal imbalances.
Elisa credits this time in her life as the catalyst for deep healing, monumental growth, and heart-opening change that showed her the value of self-love, self-compassion, and the body’s unwavering ability to heal itself.
Elisa's guidance proves invaluable, equipping her clients with tools to navigate uncertainty and cultivate resilience. From fostering mindfulness to healthier sleep habits, Elisa's impact resonates deeply, inspiring lasting change in those fortunate enough to experience her coaching firsthand.

2017
In 2017, I graduated from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. That same year, I underwent hip surgery due to wear and tear from high-intensity workouts. It shifted my relationship with movement—and my relationship with my body through new (and safe) ways to move. Just when my body felt ‘strong enough’ after surgery, I fell pregnant quickly and unexpectedly within a month of coming off HBC after 16 years of taking the pill.
2018
In 2018, we suffered our first loss after experiencing what is clinically known as a missed (or silent) miscarriage. I felt isolated and confused, betrayed by the same body I had just learned to love. Six months later, we fell pregnant again, only to experience our second loss. This devastating cycle of pregnancy and miscarriage would soon become our reality for the next four years.
2019
After suffering our third loss at twelve weeks, I began to experience trauma-induced panic attacks and was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). I was living with crippling anxiety that stopped me from getting out of bed and leaving the house. This loss was the catalyst for deep healing, monumental growth, and heart-opening change, showing me the value of self-love, self-compassion, and trust in my body’s unwavering ability to heal itself.
2020
As the world came to a grinding halt, so did our plans to have a baby. With our IVF plans on pause, I enrolled in further study and became certified as a Beautiful You Life Coach. I found solace in supporting women on their own fertility journeys and connected with thousands of women in this space. I had found my passion and purpose in nourishing aspiring mothers on their path to and through motherhood. I invested everything into my own healing journey and was in the best place of my life, both physically and mentally. After two successful egg retrievals, we were ready to transfer our first embryo. This transfer resulted in our fourth pregnancy loss and was the impetus for deciding that no matter what happened with our second transfer, it would be my last. I had reached the end of the road and was ready to close this chapter of my book. In November 2020, I became pregnant for the fifth time. It was our first successful pregnancy.
2021
After taking such good care of and nourishing my body throughout preconception and pregnancy, I wanted to carry the same food philosophy into my postpartum recovery. I honoured The First Forty Days and did everything in my power to foster a profoundly healing environment for both me and our miracle baby. At this time, I stopped taking on any new coaching clients and, instead, joined a U.S.-based start-up focused on women's health and hormone products to support fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and menopause. Within months of joining, I was promoted to Chief Marketing Officer, a role I kept until my promotion to CEO in 2023.
2022
In 2022, my husband and I made the bold and brave decision to leave New York City and begin a new life in London. What initially started as a search for a larger apartment for our growing family ended in our fourth international move. We had previously lived in London fifteen years earlier, and in many ways, it felt like we were returning “home”. This move was a twelve-month process from inception to relocation. Once again, this was an opportunity to harness the resilience I had mastered during our conception and pregnancy journey.
2023
In 2023, I took the courageous and daunting step of resigning from my CEO position to reestablish my coaching practice; within a month, I secured the nourishedmatrescence.com URL. My personal battles with infertility, pregnancy loss, and health issues have equipped me with profound insights into the significance of self-love and healing. In this new chapter of professional and personal evolution, I am committed to using this knowledge to help women navigate their transformative paths toward holistic wellness and their journeys to and through motherhood.
